Drug Dealer Nabbed Red-Handed on Sillwood Road
Police have smashed a drug racket, slamming Endri Lamaj, 23, behind bars after a lightning-fast probe. Cops sprang into action on 4 August following reports of drug dealing rocking the Sillwood Road area. Using CCTV, they zeroed in on Lamaj and caught him the very next day on John Street.
Class A Drugs and Cash Found on Dealer
Lamaj, who has no fixed address, was tailed by officers before being grabbed under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. On searching him, he admitted guilt and even tried to palm off Class A drugs. Cops seized 11 bags of cocaine and a hefty stash of cash, leading to his immediate detention on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
Swift Justice for Brighton’s Dealer
Lamaj was charged in the early hours of 6 August and faced Brighton Magistrates’ Court the same day. He pled guilty at Lewes Crown Court on 3 September and was sentenced to two years behind bars — a big win in the fight against drug supply in the city.
Police Praise Public for Crucial Tips
Chief Inspector Simon Marchant said: “The local community played a vital role in providing intelligence that enabled officers to apprehend Lamaj and remove him from the streets. Drug dealing brings disruption, fuels anti-social behaviour, and creates insecurity within the community. Patrols remain ongoing, and we urge residents to report suspicious activity. Together, we can continue to keep our streets safe.”
