Daniel Backhouse-Dyson, 42, has been named as the man who died following a motorcycle collision in Huddersfield’s Fixby area on Monday night.
His family shared a heartfelt tribute, saying: “Daniel was a loving son of Val and Paul Backhouse. A devoted dad to Sonny. A kind and caring brother to Gemma, Zoe, Samantha and the late Anna Backhouse, and a loving uncle to Shay, Kacey and Annalise.”
“He was full of life, always sharing stories and trying to put the world to rights. We will miss his funny tales and contagious laugh that will live on through his son. He will be dearly missed by us all.”
The fatal crash occurred around 7.40pm on Monday, 20 April, when Daniel came off his red Honda motorcycle on the A641 Bradford Road, near Bradley Roundabout. Despite emergency efforts, he suffered fatal injuries.
The Major Collision Enquiry Team confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident, but the investigation remains ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Nina Roper appealed for witnesses, stating: “A man has sadly lost his life. We want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage around the time.”
