Sussex Police are currently investigating the stabbing death of Tyio Day at Moon’s Lodge hostel in Brighton during the early hours of Sunday, April 26. Emergency services responded promptly to a serious altercation at the hostel, where Tyio, also known locally as Marcus, was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts to save him.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody as inquiries continue. In addition, another man believed to be in his 30s sustained serious injuries during the same incident and is receiving treatment in hospital.
The tragic death of Tyio Day has deeply affected the Brighton community. The second man injured in the stabbing remains under medical care, though Sussex Police have not yet provided further updates on his condition.
