Police investigating a series of break-ins at an Eastbourne school site have made two arrests.

Garages at the Causeway School, on Larkspur Drive, were broken into on March 27, March 31 and April 2. While damage was caused to the premises, nothing appears to have been stolen.

On the third occasion, an off-duty police officer saw three people enter the school site and rang 999. Officers attended and arrested two people – an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both from Eastbourne – on suspicion of attempted burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal.

The 18-year-old man was further arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug, and the 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class B drug.

They were both released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
