Fire rip's though barn destroying local business

At 20:27, firefighters from Broad Oak, Hastings, Rye, Battle, The Ridge, Burwash and a Command Support Unit from Lewes attended a fire in a barn on Adams Lane, Northiam.

The fire had emanated from within a set of horse stables.  Upon arrival of firefighters, the owner had safely evacuated all the horses from within the stables. No injuries were reported.

Crews used two Breathing Apparatus, two Hose Reel Jets and one Main Jet to extinguish the fire.

A Fire Investigation took place this morning and the cause of the fire was deemed accidental.

A Statement on social media from Lauren who owned the Business said “All horses and people are safe and well, Last night my entire life and dreams went up in smoke. Thankfully as we were locking the yard up Bella saw some flames which gave me enough time to get all the horses out of their stables. This was literally my life’s hard work, all my tack, rugs, feed, haylage, hats, boots, EVERYTHING up in smoke. With everything going on at the moment life was hard enough, we were struggling but sticking together as a family and doing everything to try and make it through. Now this, heartbroken doesn’t begin to cover it, I will never recover from this.”
