Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in Brighton.

Officers were called to Three 2 Four convenience store, on Western Road, at 4.23am on Friday (May 29) to reports a man had entered the store with a knife demanding money.

Simon May, 35, unemployed of Oriental Place, Brighton, was arrested and has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has also been charged with robbery in connection with an incident at the Co-op store in Old London Road, Brighton, on March 1, 2019.

May is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 5.
