Man robbed of necklace on Bexhill footbridge which connects Station Road to Endwell Road

Police appealing for witnesses to disturbance in St Leonards

Witnesses are being sought to a robbery which occurred on a footbridge in Bexhill.

A 20-year-old local man was walking across the bridge which connects Station Road to Endwell Road when he was approached from behind by an unknown man who demanded money.

The incident occurred just after 4pm on Sunday 7 June, and there were several people in the area at the time.

The suspect made off from the scene having stolen the victim’s 9ct gold chain necklace.

He is described as a white man in his 30s or 40s, about 6’, of slim build, with light coloured shaved hair and slight stubble. He wore a grubby looking white or grey T-shirt and light blue chino-style trousers.
