Just after 08:30 this morning it was reported a train had stuck a person between Salfords and Earlswood.
All lines were blocked betwen Redhill and Gatwick whist Emergency attended the scene.
A BTP Spokesperson said have confirmed the sad news that a person has died they went on to say ” The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
Southern Rail have said
All lines have reopened following a person being hit by a train between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon. Train services running between these stations may still be cancelled or delayed.
Disruption is expected until 16:00.
