A man has been arrested on suspicion of eight house burglaries across Hailsham.
The 33-year-old local man was arrested on Thursday morning (April 2) by officers investigating a series of burglaries in the town spanning from February 10 to March 24.
He was released under investigation for the burglary offences while enquiries continue.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of harassment without violence, for which he was given conditional bail, and has been recalled to prison as his release on licence was revoked.
Wealden Inspector Jon Gross said: “An arrest such as this provides a good opportunity to reassure communities. The key message is that, despite it being an uncertain time for all, our capacity and capability to tackle crime is very much intact.”
