Local officers arrested two suspected drug dealers in Bexhill following information from the public.

On Friday afternoon (3 April) Rother and Hastings neighbourhood officers stopped a car in Turkey Road, Bexhill, and arrested the two occupants, men aged 18 and 21, on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. The 18-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

126g of herbal cannabis, six mobile phones and £400 cash were found inside the vehicle and were seized.

After being interviewed both were released on police bail until 1 May while enquiries continue.

Sergeant Brett White said: “Despite our continued commitment to support communities with social distancing restrictions we continue in our pursuit of those suspected of crime. This is another case in which we were able to act on the information provided by vigilant members of the public.

“If you see suspicious activity locally, please report it, via 101 or 999, or online and we will follow it up.”
