Man charged with burgling sports shop in Worthing

A man has been charged with burglary following an alarm activation at a sports shop in Worthing on Thursday, 11 June.

Police received report of a man seen walking around JD Sports in Montague Street taking items from the rack and putting them in a box about 8.30pm.

Officers attended and discovered a box with £1,436 worth of clothing and arrested a suspect. A separate bag containing £1,273 worth of clothing was also discovered.

Aaron Simkiss, 22 of Warrior Square in St Leonards has been charged with burglary and remanded in custody.

He will appear before Lewes Crown Court on a date to be determined.
