Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Hammer Attack in Eastbourne
Early Morning Hammer Assault Shocks Eastbourne
Elliott Moore, 33, from College Road, Eastbourne, has been charged with attempted murder following a brutal hammer attack in the early hours of Monday, 4 August 2025. The violent assault left two men seriously injured.
Swift Police Action and Court Appearance
Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 6am, finding the victims injured and rushed to hospital. Thankfully, both men have since been discharged, with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
Sussex Police launched an immediate investigation. Moore was quickly arrested and slapped with charges including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 5 August and was remanded in custody. His next court date is set for 2 September at Lewes Crown Court.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
“We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the wider community,” said Detective Constable Mike Symons. “Anyone with information or footage related to the incident is urged to come forward referencing the attack.”
The attack adds to a string of violent crimes in Eastbourne this year, fuelling local calls for tougher police presence and enhanced community safety measures.
